# Knowledge

## Atlas Knowledge Base Setup

Learn how to add information to your AI agent's knowledge base. In this video, you'll learn how to:

* Upload files by clicking the upload button and selecting documents from your computer
* Drag and drop Word documents or PDFs directly into the knowledge base
* Add website URLs by pasting them directly (including the https\://) and clicking "Add to collection"

The system scrapes the webpage content in 3-5 seconds and attaches it as a knowledge base document for your AI agent to reference.

## Upload Limits

Knowledge files are capped at **10 MB** each by default; your account may be
configured with a different limit. A file over the cap is rejected with an error
naming the file and the maximum allowed size, and unsupported file types are
flagged the same way.

## The Knowledge Table

Every document in the knowledge base appears as a row in the knowledge table:

| Column | What it holds |
| -------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Checkbox | Selects the row. Select several to act on them together — for example, to assign them to an agent. |
| Name | The file name and its details. |
| Added On | The date the document was added. |
| Download | Retrieves the file. |

## Downloading a File

Click the download icon on a row to save that document to your computer.

While a download is running, its button shows a loading indicator and the other
download buttons are disabled, so only one file is retrieved at a time.

The saved file keeps the name the server reports in its `Content-Disposition`
header — both the plain `filename=` form and the RFC 5987 `filename*=UTF-8''`
encoded form are understood. If the server doesn't report one, the original file
name is used instead.

If a download fails, Atlas shows a **Download failed — Couldn't download the
file. Please try again.** notification and the row returns to its normal state.
